The Robert and Chrissy Foundation was started in 2026 in honour of my parents, who were parents to every child and young person they met.

Robert and Chrissy Francis are social workers by profession and always had the attitude of your child is my child and that is how we build communities.

​

My late father, Robert Francis, worked for the Department of Social Development in Mitchells Plain, where he would cross cultural, racial and religious boundaries to deliver an impact. Later he would retire from working fulltime for the Department of Social Development and venture into presenting and hosting parent and child workshops, with his main focus being troubled homes.

​

My mother, Chrissy Francis, currently works fulltime in palliative care, where she prepares patients and their loved ones for the end of life of the patient. She also prepares them for how the following days, months and years will be for the loved ones who remain. Throughout her life she has worked with children of abuse and neglect. She has actively been involved with teaching Sunday School and Confirmation, as well as being involved with youth ministry at the local parish.

Both Robert and Chrissy have worked in the victim comfort room at the local police station, where they have supported victims of various types of abuse.

The Robert and Chrissy Foundation is there to continue this legacy of your child is my child and aims to empower the disadvantaged student with the resources to excel and prosper at school and beyond.
